On a Lark

Privacy policy

On a Lark helps you find events and stays within a driving radius of a city you type.

How your search is used: the city, dates, and radius you enter are used only to run each search for public events, forecasts, and places to stay. They are not stored, apart from a short temporary cache (about 15 minutes) that speeds up repeat searches, and they are not linked to you. There are no user accounts and no ads in the app, and we do not sell personal data. On a Lark does not run its own analytics or collect an advertising identifier.

What stays on your device: saved trips are stored in local storage on the phone or browser. Optional Thursday reminders are scheduled as local notifications by the iOS app. We do not receive a copy of those saves or reminders.

What we don’t collect: your device location, contacts, photos, or payment details.

Affiliate links: Some links to hotels, tours, and tickets are affiliate links. On a Lark may earn a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. When you tap one, the partner site may use cookies or similar tools to record that the click came from On a Lark. That click tracking is how a commission is attributed. We do not receive a profile of you from those clicks. The partners this can apply to are Expedia (Expedia Group, via Partnerize), Viator, Booking.com (via CJ), and Ticketmaster (via Impact). A partner is added to a link only when its id is set. Airbnb, Google Hotels, and the other sites you open have their own policies.

Third parties: the home city you type is looked up with OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service to find it on the map. Event listings may come from AllEvents and, if configured, Ticketmaster. Forecasts come from Open-Meteo using the destination city’s coordinates. Active watches and warnings come from the National Weather Service. Hotel and activity links may open Expedia, Hotels.com, Airbnb, Booking.com, Google Hotels, and Viator. Those sites have their own policies.
